Splicing outdoor speaker

I would like to set up outside speakers on my deck. How do I go about splicing a wire from my current speakers in my audio system to outside?

Do not just "splice" the leads. You will lower the ohms and probably damage all the speakers and the amp. If you hook up two 8 ohm speakers in parallel, you reduce each to 4 ohms. Only mid-priced and expensive amps can handle 4 ohm speakers.

You need a speaker selector switch - available at most electronic stores.

What is a speaker selection switch? In the back of my reciever there are no more places to put any wire in.

Its a separate box. You wire two leads into the input and then can connect up to 6 pairs of speakers. Units are available in 4 and 6 pair. Inside is the necessary circuitry to prevent damaging your speakers and amp.
