TV/VCR problem with picture

When I play some tapes (not all), the image at the top (~1/2") of the tv screen is curved sharply to the left. Adjusting the tracking does nothing to help. What else can I try?

The condition you describe is called "flagging" and is caused by a video head that is set higher than its counterpart on the opposite side. I see 1999 as the sale date. This is a factory setting and should be covered by the warranty. There is no user adjustment available. It is a very delicate adjustment and should be done by a service center or the factory.
