screwy sony tv

I have a 27' sony tv (model kv-2795R) that dosen't recieve a picture for cable or vcr. However, when hooked up to a nintendo, or any kind of game system, it works perfectly. What is the problem, and can i fix it? please help...

It would be helpful to know if (with the Nintendo, etc.) everything disconnected, is there snow on the screen or is it a solid raster (screen light up) with no snow? Also, are you hooking the Nintendo to the cable TV antenna or connecting it to the jacks in the back of the television?
If you have a solid raster and connecting to the jacks in the back of the set, you are stuck in "TV Monitor Mode". To get out of that, you need the remote control, you have to access the internal menues, and change your selection to either "Broadcast TV" (when using an outside antenna) or "Cable-TV" (when hooked to cable).
