Help! Plasma TV won't turn on

If anyone has any ideas they are greatly appreciated. I have a Dell 42" plasma tv. It won't power on. When I hit the power button, it tries to come on but will shut off within 2-3 seconds. Has anyone ever had this problem? Could it be the power supply? I just thought of something, It started acting that way after a lightning storm. It wasn't on at the time, however it was plugged in the wall. Hasn't worked since then.

Dude you got a Dell?

Did you buy additional Dell CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service.
They did have extended warranty coverage that you should have bought.
If not, most homeowner's insurance policies cover lightning damage, you just have to have a service center sayso.
I do not think there is anything you can do yourself at this point to repair the set as lightning will cause all sorts of damage to power supplies and sensitive microprocessors in your set. In most cases they do not even have a fuse in the newer sets and have other components that address power surges that are better than fuses but not so easily replaced.
Contact Dell for a repair/replacement solution.

I didn't buy the TV from Dell. I bidded on a Public Storage Unit & the TV was in the Unit along with alot of other valuables. I have contacted Dell, but since I'm not the original owner I had to transfer ownership 1st, I did that & they told me that since the TV was out when I transferred the ownership I'll have to find someone local to fix it. The problem is no one local will fix it because it's a Dell. I guess I'll keep calling around to see if someone can fix it. I really appreciate the info.
