dvd/cable/tv setup

I have a Philips DVDR615/37 Recorder/Player. I used to have it connected to Cable/TV and a VCR. I removed VCR and now I cannot access DVD menu to set clock, play or record DVD's etc. I have it connected as follows:
Cable Box Cable Out to DVD Antenna
TV Antenna to DVD TV
Cable Box Audio/Video Out to DVD Audio/Video In

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I may be doing incorrectly?

DVD help

Can you see the DVD screen on your TV? You should have audio/video out line from DVD connected to audio/video in of TV. Then you should have TV set on Video 1 or 2 - if older TV use aux (zero) +1. Make sure remote is pointed towards DVD player and that DVD button is pressed. Hope this helps, The Ladyfixer.

TV antenna to DVD TV is the connection from DVD out to the input on the TV? I've never seen a DVD recorder nor player with a coax output.

I looked up the manual (you still have your manual don't you?). The coax cable is only good for watching cable. Its not for use when watching a movie.
Hook up the yellow, red, and white cables to watch a movie.
