No Control

I have a Magnavox tv, about 10 years old (at least). Recently, completely on its own, it started to display what looks like an in-store commercial over the top of the regular programming. None of my buttons will work, including the power button. I pulled the plug, let it set awhile, and plugged it back in and it continued right where it left off. It says (in print - the volume is gone) that "this is the television you will own in the future - blah, blah blah", and then displays all the functions, and then starts all over again.

How can I get my tv back?

Need model #. My friend had this on his a long time ago. There are 3 buttons
on the remote that need to be pressed at the same time but I cannot
remember what there are but it fixed my friends tv. Need the model # as I
was able to find it on the web. One place says to press both up and down
volume controlls at the same time on the TV set and let them go at the same
time. The tv should turn off by its self and then can be operated normally.

Model # 19PSC5 0124. I hope it's something I can do from the controls on the set, since my remote was mangled by dog (I think he was infatuated by the "paws" button).

Press either both the volume controls on the set, or the channel up/down controls at the same time. This should reset it without the remote.

I had same problem with a Magnavox we owned a while back.

Last night, after reading the reply from Death Touch, I plugged the set back in, and pushed both volume controls at the same time. The set buzzed for a second and then clicked off. When I powered it back up, all was normal.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was thinking the set was done for.

Thats cool. My buddies TV required 3 button on the remote to get his to work again.
