Are all home theater speaker stands the same?

I'm looking to buy 4 speaker stands for satellite type speakers. I see a variety of prices, but I don't see an obvious difference in the products available.

Any recommendations?

Some stands are made for specific speakers. This can mean many things, they way the speaker sits or connects to the stand, cable routing to the speaker, the weight or size of the speaker, wood or metal stands. If you are shopping over the net, make sure the stand specs meet the size and weight of your speaker. If shopping locally, write down the make and model of your speaker or take a speaker with you if it is not to big.

Along with what Death touch said, I think Sanus Systems makes nice universal stands. They have a big variety and also have a set for bookshelf/oversized speakers. I use them in my Installations all the time. Fairly easy to put together and good cable management built into them.
