TV Tuner for PC
Hi,
I'm looking for a new TV Tuner/PVR/Video conversion appliance so that I can connect a coax to my PC and watch/record TV. I also want to use it to encode analog video feeds froma camera. Other than that my only concern is that is be a USB model so that I can move it with ease.
Anyone have expereince with these products? I've found several that would fit the bill the problem I have is figuring out which are junk. Here's some I have looked at:
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2
Plextor ConvertX PX-TV402U
ADS TEch Instant TV Deluxe USB
Diamond XtremeTV PVR600 USB 2.0
Any recommendations?

Hauppauge is good. I have this one installed in my PC.
The software they have is not necessarily the best
but it works. I haven't had any problems with it.
I don't know much about the rest.

I have a Hauppauge PVR150, and it works great (although it is not USB).
I used to have a Hauppauge USB one that worked ok as well.
If you are trying to set it up as a Tivo-like DVR, I recommend using an application called GBPVR. It's free and it's awesome.
