split satellite feed
i have two coax cables from my duel head sat. and cant seem to get consistant signal when i split one to the bed room that has its own reciever. the reciever seems to check out ok during diognostic. do i need a special splitter? if so, what kind? thanks.

Yes you need a special switch. You can not split the feed from a satellite dish to two receivers with a normal cable splitter. A satellite receiver put voltage on the cable to power the dish. It switches the voltage between 13 and 18 volts for different channels. If you get two receivers trying to switch the voltage to to two different setting at the same things get screwed up.
You need a switch called a 3x4 multiswitch. You will take the two feeds and put them intothe switch. Then you will be able to connect up to four receivers if you wish.
