Home Theater Rear Speaker Mounts

Hi:
Hope this is the correct forum for this question.

We'll be mounting to the ceiling 2 rear speakers for a 5.1 home theater system. The speaker cables will be fished through the ceiling and drop to the speaker location.

Typically can these speakers mount to drywall anchors, or do they need a wood support? Also, should I install p-rings for the wires, or create a hole large enough for the speaker wire?

Thanks.

I assume these are surface mount, maybe small cube speakers on a bracket? While I always prefer to hit wood, small speakers are light enough to use anchors. Use the auger anchors called zip-its or ez-anchors. Or use toggle bolts.

Can the cable feed through the mounts? If not, it would depend on the size of the speakers, but you want a clean look.
