LCD or Plasma?

I'm looking at flat panel TVs and I'm wondering which type of display technology is best?

I'd say LCD unless you're looking at huge screens, where plasma is a bit cheaper. (Although the LCD size/price ratio is catching up.)

Just my opinion. I like the look of LCD better.

I agree with LCD! But Plasma has come a long.

From what I hear, if you have a room that is bright, then go with an LCD otherwise choose a plasma.

With that said, I also heard that an LCD will display some type of streaking effect on fast moving images.

Personally, I would go with a plasma.

Both systems have pros & cons, and both have been refined over the years to pretty much offset the differences. Plasma is no longer an automatic "power hog." LCD stepping & streaking has been minimized with faster refresh rates. DLP rear projection now has a wider viewing angle.

It really boils down to which look the viewer prefers.
