Toshiba TE50T11 - turns off and power light blinks

Hi, I've got a problem with my Toshiba TheaterView TV. It started a few months ago where the TV would just turn off and the power indicator light would just blink. The problem is really random - happens every 5 minutes or will go hours or days before it happens. When it happens, we unplug it and plug it back in and then it works fine until the next time it just happens to decide to turn off.

I'm assuming it is power supply or board related. I took off the back cover and noticed it was very dirty - did some spring cleaning and worked for a little bit, but then started again. I've read a few posts on this, but didn't really see a solution.

Couple of questions:
1. What would be a ballpark figure for repair if going to a service center? Trying to determine if it makes sense to just buy a new TV!
2. Anyone know how to get a service manual on the TV? I tried a service manual website and could not find it listed.
3. Would anyone know of a good service center in the sacramento/surrounding area? Toshiba service site shows someone in the bay area.

thanks for your help.

No solution found or provided. My only solution was to purchase a 67 inch HD TV and put mine to the TV graveyard
