Unhappy Thin plastic swivel a.k.a. 3D Axis broken (on AKG headphones). Any way to repair

Hello forum members! I'm the new one here...

Headphones broken. No, the plug is live. ))

OK, my K28NC noise cancelling headphones sounded great... until they broke. No guarantee repair, no way to order this part. Here is the item:

1. It was easy to fix with the glue
2 & 3 - glue won't help, lateral load is too high, glue won't help.

I read that the epoxy glue can help, but I don't see a way it will work in my case. Also I had the recommendation to strengthen the construction with thin metal sticks.

Can anybody give me the manual to these operations or better recommendations maybe?

Thanx in advance!

Welcome to the forums!

The best stuff I've ever used for an "impossible" repair like that one is JBStik. The same company makes a faster-setting product called WaterWeld that sets in 2 minutes. Either will work to mend your headphones. Just make a putty sculpture around the breaks and wait for it to set. It won't be pretty, but it won't fall apart with normal handling. (Just don't throw the headphones against the wall ... )

I discovered the stuff at Home Depot, but it's probably sold at other big box stores too.

Thumbs up

Not sure if I can obtain one here, in Russia. Is it better than "Done Deal"? The last one was reccomended by my friend who is into cars.

Thanx for you reply!

Well that pretty much rules out Home Depot.

From the web site:
"INTERNATIONALLY AVAILABLE IN:
Canada
England
France
Germany
Greece
Italy
Mexico
Russia
US Territories (Puerto Rico)"
