LCD TV help....remote and calibration
Help an older lady, and she just got new LCD tv's for her over the air antenna....problem she is a little bit of a control person/OCD and says that the remotes are too small, and the picture is too bright. We got them at Best Buy, a 42" Dynex and a 32" Sharp...both LCDs...I have gone in and adjusted the "personal" settings on both to take out maximum color and brightness. But she is still complaining...BB offers the calibration that says that it will fix the problem...any ideas on this?? is it worth it????............The remote is also a problem. She needs to be able to toggle through the picture settings (personal, standard, dynamic, soft, etc) to get the color/brightness correct for her, and I cannot find a universal that has that feature. It really is a pain when the stations tend keep everything bright when others seem to not...will this all be standardized when the transition is complete?? Fox and NBC are far brighter and garish than say CBS here in ALbuquerque....
bottom line...calibration good idea? Universal remote that has a picture adjustment button?

Sounds like my grandma! She just couldn't get used to the new tvs after watching her old set for years.Had to keep the room dark to see it.
As for calibration,it's just a waiste of money for everyday people.Great if you have a movie room.
