KF-60XBR800 LCD Projection TV on off issue
TV turns on fine, picture and sound are great. After 30 minutes of watching it, it turns off, standby led blinks 34 times and turns on again. It does this every 30 minutes or so. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

craftsman_50. I tried the fan for an hour but it didn't help. I have heard on other sites that it could be the lamp but at 200 dollars a lamp I want to make sure before I buy another one which I just replaced a year. I also heard that it could be the lamp driver.

If it was the lamp you would not get a picture.Check your owners manual to see if there is an air filter that needs cleaning. These sets will shut down if the lamp starts to run hot. They all have a fan that circulates the air around the lamp.If the fan has stopped working or the air path is obstructed it will cause your symptoms. You can try taking the back off and use a hair dryer on cool to blow out the dust. All the optical stuff is sealed so you don't have to worry about blowing dust on them.Let me know what happens.

I took the back off and vacuumed as much as I could and I also took off the fan and cleaned it all out. I know what you are saying about the lamp. From what I've heard from others is if the lamp is getting old it starts to draw more current to keep it on and this makes the lamp driver shut down the tv. It must have something to do with the standby light blinking 34 times. I guess the standby light gives out codes by the many times it blinks to let you know what is wrong. i'm going to try to find the service manual for it. Thanks for the help.

All fixed. It was the lamp even though I still had a picture. I read that if the lamp is getting old, tired and has cracks in the porcelin around the connector,it requires more current to stay on thus the HV sensor detects too much current and thus shutting down the tv and giving you a lamp driver error. Installed new lamp and all is working fine.
Thanks for your help.
