HD Toshiba Remote Control

HD Toshiba Remote Control
I bought my HD system in 2002 and all has been good until a couple of months ago.
I used to power ON / OFF my Toshiba (36HFX71) HD TV and all other equipment with the remote. Recently however I noticed the TV was not responding to the remote but all other TV functions and the rest of my equipment were responding and so I turned the TV ON / OFF manually.
Now last night I had to switch the TV input from HD1 to Antenna1 but I was not able since the TV does not respond to the remote at all now and there is no other way to change that. All other equipment respond to the remote fine. There are 5 control buttons on the front of the TV but it’s not easy to operate them.
Anyone has an idea what is wrong?
Thanks

First try another remote. To rule out the remote as the problem.

Your going to have to replace the control board, Part # 23786956 . Price rebuilt...about $50.00, New about $ 150.00 .

Thank you Craftsman, much appreciated
I will have to get an estimate to get it done. The problem is the TV weights about 250 Lbs, not a thing I can put it in my trunk. If it gets to expensive, I guess it will be better to buy a new LCD.
