2 problems with 2 seperate older tvs
first there is a model 43gx01b hitachi tv that was a gimme. the power cord had been cut so i soldered it back together i dont know if that was pre-problem or not but anyway when i plug it in there is a clicking and 5-6 green led lights that flash with the clicking no sound or picture. nieghberhood repair shop says too old to fix not to even bring it in but its a decent looking set.please help

Those blinking lights indicate that power is there and that those circuits are probably ok.Look for the other green lights to find ones that are not blinking. That will be the circuit with the problem. With that many lights blinking I'm betting you have a shorted Horizontal Output Transister. They are cheap and easy to replace if you have soldering skills. Then you'll have to find the fuseable resister or pico fuse that opened up in that circuit.

wth is a horizontal output transistor
how do i recognize it, replacing it should not be an issue as long as i can get my hands on it i have been told i cant get parts anylonger for this tv. pico fuse and fusable resistors i know absolutly nothing about but if i can find it i can replace it.
