Old CRT problem?

Iíve got an old Zenith CRT TV that will not come on. When I plug it in the On/Off light blinks and you can hear a clicking sound. Is this a bad switch? The clicking sound is coming from the back of the TV. I am thinking of taking the back cover off and seeing if I can find out where the click is coming from. Any ideas?

It's not the on/off switch.Something has shorted out and causing the tv to go into shutdown mode.

Post a schematic. We'll step you through it. Set aside a whole day and warm up your test instruments.

I dont have a schematic. I've never worked on a tv are any electronics so this maybe over my head. I dont have any test instruments minus a multi-meter. Anyway, is there anything easy that I could check. Thanks for your help.
