My 25"Emerson TV has lines across like a page in notebook, and pic is so fuzzy, I cant even read the i/n messgs.Could it be the antenna,or is something burned out? It had been repaired a few months ago, because it had no pic at all. Also, can one use a satelite dish to improve reception?

From the symptoms you describe, it may be a thing the old timers called a "snivet". It is an arcing in the high voltage section of the TV (the 25,000-45,000 volts used to light up the picture tube) that is being retransmitted to the set as part of the TV signal. Since you just had a "no picture" situation, I suspect this is a follow on to the original problem. Time to call the guy back and finish the repair.

Can you improve reception with a satellite dish. Depends on your area and if you can put a dish where it has a good look at the satellite. It's an expensive toy at this time of life but it will be a standard before long when all television goes to HDTV. Your set will be obsolete and you will have to make the change....or start talking to your spouse again for entertainment. The new satellite installations have provisions for picking up the local stations now so you have a full lineup of channels to select from.
