On and Off Switch on 19''Philips/Magnavox

The power switch works on and off on this set , sometime the power goes off while watching TV . I took the Cover off and played with the switch , and the problem is still there . How do I go on replacing it , and is it worth it ? Thanks

If the power is dropping, it may not be the switch. It could be a break in the cord, a bad electrical outlet, etc. Not seeing this problem one-on-one, it's tough to answer. If the switch is actually the problem, you can try substituting a cheap toggle switch that you can buy at the hardware store.
Is it worth it? That's your call. Not mine. If the set is old, you may be on the brink of a bunch of minor disasters. In that case, I would recommend replacement. If the set is relatively new, I should remind you that HDTV is going to make it obsolete in a couple of years.
As my spouse has said in the past, if there is an emotional tie to the unit, buy it flowers once in a while. LOL
