Question about speaker polarity...

I have a subwoofer from out of a 1999 Ford Expedition. I need to know what wire is plus and minus and there are no markings on the back of the speaker or wires. (see pic)
I did notice that the terminals are 2 different sizes. Replacement speakers also come with different size terminals, but I'm not sure which terminal is used for what polarity?
Anyone care to take a stab at which one is which? Thanks...

The larger terminal is positive.

To verify, touch a 1.5-volt AA battery to the terminals. If the speaker cone moves outward the positive terminal is on the positive side of the battery. Don't leave the battery connected or you could heat up and damage the voice coil. Touch it just long enough to determine which way the cone moves.

Polarity of a single speaker isn't as important as making sure the polarity is the same on all of the speakers.
