what basic receiver for Dish Network

what basic receiver for Dish Network

What is a good basic receiver ,single output, that will work with Dish Network
,to buy, and where online is good to buy... dont need fancy... for Dish 500
and what tria is good that I can buy new....??

tria ? you mean LNB?

there are hundreds of old (sd) 311's around, but Dish won't activate them anymore.

Thus the current basic receiver is a 211, which is HD ready.

For HD you'll need a new dish, probably.
For basic SD, you just need a dishpro plus lnb

has to work with basic 500 dish and I dont care about HD but do want record...

a 512 receiver is a single sd dvr unit.
a 612 receiver is a single hd dvr unit.

why not check with a local retailer, you may qualify for free equipment as a return customer,

and why not HD: you cant buy a new sd TV !!!
