Toshiba TV Display Problem

I recently bought a 52" toshiba tv that has some display problems when its turned on. It starts out not being able to really see anything on it but a bunch of whitish lines and then the picture comes in a little but there is still a dark area down the middle of the screen, and the left side is streaky and it takes a second for images to fade away. When I bought it it would take about 30 minutes for the full resolution picture to come in but now it takes all day of having the tv on.

I am basically looking for a way to fix it myself as cheaply as possible because I got the tv for pretty cheap and would love it to work all the time, not sure if it just needs a bulb replacement or what

Being that the problem got better as the set warms up , indicates bad caps in the power supply.

Is it an easy repair ? If it were just power supply caps it might be.

If you don't know what you are looking at inside the TV then you would need the service manual or schematic for it. As they aren't usually found for free online you would probably need to make that purchase.

You would need a GOOD pencil soldering iron and the correct solder. Depending on the type of board you may need a way to remove the solder to remove the parts.

Unfortunately due to their complexity.....TV's are hard to repair unless it's just a board swap.
