Hitachi rear projection 51f510

I tripped over the HDMI cable and the port on the TV is now beat. Is that a replaceable part? Any idea where to get one? Solder or plug and play?

Picture on the TV is still great, everything else works, but I want to hook up a bluray player.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You would be very lucky if it's plug & play. I would contact Hitachi or an electronic supply house.

Welcome to the forums.

It's definitely not a "plug and play" repair.

The Hitachi part number of that jack is EA01791U
That is a surface mount jack. Extremely difficult to replace.

It took me almost a half hour to find just the jack on the 180 page service manual. The service manual does not show the actual board that the HDMI jack is attached to. It just says HDMI.

That could mean it's directly attached to the HDMI processor board which would be cost prohibitive to replace. You could open the back of the set and see what it's attached to. If you search the part number I left you and select images..... a number of boards comes up. There is a chance that the jack is on a small sub board.

Yeah, is in on a circuit board, inside a metal housing.

Any idea how much the board would be? I'd rather pay $250 to fix than shank the TV.

Take the make & model # off the board & try to contact the manufacturer.
