Sony initial "scratchy," crackling TV audio

When I initially turn on my Sony KV-32TS20 television the audio is "scratchy" and crackles for several minutes with the Stereo LED flickering. Within minutes the problems resolve themselves. Once it is "warmed up" I can turn the set off and on without it's exhibiting the problems again until the TV is "cold" started.

In doing web searches regarding my Sony model I have found several references to problems with the sound module. Thus I am considering attempting to replace the SBX1637-11 sound module. (I am hoping it is easily accessible and that replacing the part will be a simple task.)

Am I on the right track or is the solution likely to be something else?

Thumbs up

Good Evening:

You accidentally felling to a series of Sony television sets that have the identical problem with the sound. And, indeed, the sound module is the beast that is causing the scratchy sound. Be advised that it will only get worse. I found this reference to the replacement of the unit:

Defective IC on audio pcb. Little green part with tiny caps on it smack in
the middle of the board with the a/v jacks on it. It's a ceramic PCB, about
1" square and it will have corrosion because the capacitors start leaking.

Give it a try. Let us know how this all turns out.
