Wink Mice chewed speaker wires

I recently discovered that mice had chewed through every single one of the wires of my entertainment center. My question is: is it possible to splice the wires and have them work? Or, if not, is it possible to change out the wires, and what is required for me to know, that is not obvious to a sometime do it yourselfer?
Thanks, buhnyhuhny

p.s. I don't know what trackback means.

Welcome back. Yes, you can splice the wires back, but without knowing the extent of damage, we may not be giving good advice. Can you post a picture or two of the wires showing the damage so we can see what you see? Don't feel bad, I don't know what a trackback is either. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

Speaker wires can be repaired. If the RCA cables (red and white plugs) were damaged, or a mini jack cable (1/8" plug) were damaged, they need to be replaced. The wires in these cables are very fine and not practical to repair for the average homeowner.
