Question

My Philips VCR , which I purchased last month, has no picture except a blue screen. I get the sound though,. It was working fine during a movie I was watching. But when I put in another movie all I got was the sound and a completly blue screen. What can I do to fix it?

Thumbs up

Good evening, uwishuknew:
You folks have some interesting handles. If you have the blue screen on the television set the first thing to check is the cable between the VCR and the television set. I am assuming you are connected direct video to video and sound to sound in this instance since sound is getting through. Make sure you have the cable connected to the VCR video output to the television set Video Input jack.

If you are running RF, that is to say you are connected to the television set antenna input, then it is warranty time. If you are getting sound and no video (ie: the blue screen) then the problem is with the VCR and it may be a dud. BUT, make sure you have the antenna connection hooked to the RF OUT of the VCR and not the RF IN.

Good hunting and happy watching,

Smokey
