Solid colors on Magnavox screen

Good morning, I have a Magnavox 37MD350B/F7 television that only displays solid changing colors upon start up. Additionally power switch does not work I need to plug it in to get it to turn on.

Any thoughts would be appreciated !

Press the Power button on the television and hold it down for 10 seconds. The screen will go black. Let the button out. Wait ten seconds and see if the TV works normally.

Thanks for reply! I just tried it and no change. I was hoping there would be some type of reset available. I had read on another post holding both volume buttons in for 10 seconds, tried that and no luck either

If the resets don't work.... it's not a glitch. It's an actual electronic problem. Pretty much from this point forward a service manual would be needed to start checking at the power supply.

Unplug the TV, press all the buttons on the TV, plug back on and test. Sometimes they build up a static charge that needs to be bled off. Probably won't help but worth a try. I even fixed a microwave that way and remotes more than once by pulling the batteries and pushing the buttons.

PJ and I posted at the same time. I agree his assessment is more likely.
