Need help with surround sound/analog to digital?

Hey there, I have a 9 year old TV, Dynex DX-55L150A11
My old analog surround sound has about died, it's very old.
My TV doesn't have a digital output.
These newer soundbars/systems all call for digital or HDMI/ARC. I have several HDMI slots but none are ARC.
Any ideas? I keep thinking there is a converter out there for this. The TV is fine. I have no reason to upgrade it. I have the red/white analog out TV ports/cables that currently go to the analog surround system.
I just want a better surround sound.
Any links/converters appreciated.
Thanks

Not a pro on available sound bars but from the ones I've installed.... they have provisions for an analog input. Converting from analog to digital won't add anything as far as "surround" sound.

If you were upgrading to a new surround system.... the digital sources would come from things like the cable/set top box or a DVR.

Just googled your TV and it shows that it has a digital output:
https://www.dynexproducts.com/pdp/DX-55L150A11/1437844
Outputs:Include 1 analog audio (rear) and 1 coaxial digital audio (rear).

What you may need is a coax digital to optical digital converter. I bought this $20 one and it seems to work fine with my TV (which didn't have optical output for newer soundbar):

I think you're right. That's digital, I used the RCA output. My setup works, but what you linked would probably be better. Thanks.

Hi, I believe you will only get surround sound if you are watching movies that are recorded in 5.1 Dolby and later .
