Getting rid of old cable into the crawl space
I have cable that I want to get rid of (see picture - both the coax and the white cable, whatever that is). It is running from the crawl space through the floor.
Can I just push it down the hole into the crawl space and leave it there - and if so, do I need to insulate it somehow, in case there is water in the crawl space?
Or do I need to go back to the cable box outside and pull the entire cable from there?

The black cable is obviously cable.
The white wire can be a network connection for computer or more likely a phone cable.
That cable should have the ends taped in case it's still live.
