Roku streaming stick not working well with Amazon Prime Video
When I use the Roku, some programs that are included on Amazon Prime Video (and which I can watch free on my desktop) require a fee. E.g. The Missing is included in Amazon Prime Video. But when I tried to stream it using my Roku, it said I needed a free trial of Starz, which I used for nearly all episodes. But when the trial was up, I still hadn't finished the last two episodes. When I tried to watch them on the Roku, it demanded a Starz subscription! I watched the episodes free on the desktop.
Amazon online chat was completely unable to help, and Roku has no customer service at all at the moment.
Will be grateful for any ideas, suggestions, explanations.

I don't understand your comment. The series is INCLUDED on Amazon Prime Video. It shouldn't have even required a trial of Starz. I watched it free on my desktop but couldn't watch it free on the TV using the Roku.

I see what you're saying. Seasons 1 and 2 are supposed to be included with prime. Looks like the problem was signing up for Starz. I can stream them on my roku. (Amazon prime)
Maybe try deleting the Amazon Prime channel from your Roku then add the channel again.

I've deleted and re-installed EVERYTHING repeatedly. Hasn't helped. (;-(
Which Roku do you have?
I think there's a similar problem with other Amazon Prime content.

Put in a request for a call back from Amazon. You’ll find it after a few clicks here and there under the Help section. I find them helpful when you actually talk to them.

Yes, much better to talk. But I tried repeatedly and could only get the online chat. They even wrote a long, apologetic email and gave me a SPECIAL NUMBER to call - which then was unavailable. (:-(

We've got several. The one I checked was Roku 3900X (express).
I usually prefer chat for customer service. It beats trying to understand someone on the phone with an English accent that you cant understand what they are saying.
Tolyn... this program (The Missing) specifically says "Seasons 1 and 2 included with amazon prime". That's the basis of her whole question.

Just because it is available on Amazon does not mean it is included with Prime.

Thanks - my Roku is older. If I run into the problem again, I might try another chat guy. But you might be right about the problem being signing up with Starz - the trailer says it's a Starz subscription, but not the actual episodes. I don't usually stream a lot, but for obvious reasons I'm home a lot more now, so I'm looking for things to watch. Probably would have worked fine if I had just gone directly to the episode.
