I have a RCA VCR model# VR-280 and I know that it needs new loading belts but I dont know where the loading belts are located. If you could tell me a web page that would have them that would be nice. I have already looked at http://www.fixer.com and they don't say where the loading belts are, but if some would tell me where to find those belts That would make me happy.

Smokey says turn the VCR over and take off the bottom inspection plate. Most of the belts are located in this area.

pioneer receiver too quiet

Hi. I inherited a busted up old pioneer vsx-9500s a/v reciever from my parents. The problem is with the output...it's way too quiet. With the volume knob cranked to 11, the sound is barely audible far in the back of the speakers. This is why my parents replaced the thing, it worked fine for them for years and then one day... you know how the story goes. So i'm convinced i can fix it to replace my piece of crap 1986 fisher unit. i opened the pioneer up and besides a lot of dust, i see nothing out of the ordinary except what looks like a possible blown fuse (marked 10A and all cloudy lookin'). Am i drunk, or could this be the problem? If not, what's the deal? Can i fix it? Should I fix it? I'm not experienced with such things, but i think i would trust myself with some freshman/sophomore level ee projects. I wanna learn. Thanks, tymk Read More

32" JVC lightning damage...?

Had a lightning storm over the weekend and I think that our house took a near hit during it. Cordless phone on the fritz, vcr down and out, and our tv would get a picture but no sound. A day later, no picture. The front red power light will come on and there is an audible click but nothing else. I think the phone and vcr are fried but should I try to get the tv repaired? Could it be a fairly cheap repair? Thanks for the info!Read More
