Question Bose 601 speakers, do they have any value?

I bought these speakers new and they were fantastic! Over the years I quit using them and they just sit in the corner of my game room is great condition. Recently I pulled the covers off only to find that the woofer foam has degraded into nothing!

I see these speakers advertised on Ebay for $800 and I can buy Bose foam kits for $35. The question is, are they worth anything as is, or should I re-foam the woofers myself and try and sell them? I see YouTube videos on how to do it, it doesn't look too bad.

If they are one of the really desirable series of 601's I wouldn't re-foam them. I'd clearly state/show the condition and sell them as is. Anyone who buys them is probably going to be an audiophile and might want to do it themselves.

Yes, they're worth something to collectors and audiophiles, people love NAME brands.

No, you should probably let the buyer do the repairs because the job YOU do will never match what they want.
Another option is to find a stereo or electronics repair store around you and see what THEY would like for the speakers- you MIGHT get a better price from the professional, because they can do the restoration work AND have the tools / expertise to do it.

Thanks for the replies so far, they line up with my thoughts. Any idea what these would be worth in excellent condition.... other than the obvious foam issue? There's not a mark on them and I have taken very good care of them. I even still have the original paperwork and receipt!

Biggest issue is shipping vs pickup.
You wouldn't want to ship them which means you'd need to locate someone somewhat local.

We can't offer price guesses since you haven't told us what speakers you have. Bose made several different versions of 601's over many years. Prices vary by model and age, still all of them are good speakers that have held their value well. Look up your model of speakers on Ebay and see what they are going for.
