Hi, I have both LG 29" and JVC 20" TV in my home. They appear to have the same problem, could not establish ch3-ch6 but higher channels seem to be fine. Even I use automatic tuning, it is still futile. Does it mean the tuner circuit for the TV set is getting problem? I use cable at home, and for sure there's no problem with the cable signal since I connect another TV and it is working perfectly.

Good Morning, davidfung:

Where are you located at? The reason I ask this is because I have seen similar problems with American television sets being used in Japan and other countries in the Asian quadrant. And, visa versa, of course. The reason for this is that the television frequencies are not the same as they are in America.

JVC & LG TV problem

I'm living in Toronto area of Canada. Those TV set work before, but get problem since the beginning of the year. I thought it's some kind of tuner circuit problem. Thanks.

Good Morning, davidfung:
This would be a rare situation that two television sets would encounter the same failure in the same way. But, if a third set is working on the cable then I have to concur that the cable system is working properly.

So, I have to also concur the sets have tuner problems. But the coincidence of the failures leaves me wondering if there isn't something else in the equation.

It is even more rare that the sets will lose the lower channels below Channel 6. In the age of electronic tuners (as opposed to the old wafer switch or barrel tuners), the failure ranks as an odd situation.
