Television Slot Antenna

Are there anyone out there that can help me with information, diagrams, sketches, plans, etc. concerning building my own slot antenna for television reception?

Good Morning from America, derikj:

While we share a common language, the terms may mean something different from one country to the other. The term "slot antenna" tells me you need a fixed frequency antenna for reception of a single source? Is this correct?

In that case, there is a site that shows construction of a YAGI antenna essentially for broadcast reception of FM radio in the USA. However, the antenna elements can be modified in length to be used with other signal sources. Also, the old YAGI is very directional but exhibits high gain.

Have a look at this site: http://radio.meteor.free.fr/us/yagi_fm.html

Cool Television slot antenna

G'day Smokey,
Thanks for the quick response. Actually I am an expat South-African living in Tasmania and my mother tongue is Afrikaans. That is just by the way.
Back to the antenna. Someone told me about this really simple antenna, called a slot antenna. This is made up of a sheet of aluminium 22.5 inches long and 6.5 inches wide and no thinner than 1 mm.
You cut a slot in this sheet of metal leaving a border of 2 inches of metal on the outside. To this you then connect your coaxial cable.
This looks and sound really simple - almost to simple but to all accounts it works very well. apparently it is based on a radar antenna that was developed in WW2.

Good Morning, derikj:

I had to think back a few dozen years about this one and now I recall it being used as a low frequency antenna in the UHF band.

Here's a couple of sites for you to peruse. Maybe you can find what you need:
