Smile New DVD

I currently have coax from the digital cable through the
VCR to a fairly new (under 3 years old) 27" RCA TV. I
want to purchase a good grade DVD with VCD capability.
Do I have to convert to the three cable set up on all of
these with a control box if I want the DVD to run through
the same TV? Does the DVD run with a coax that I could
run with an A/B switch or T connector?

Does your moderately new RCA have a multiple RCA jacks panel?
Coax sorta stinks for good quality signals. RCA pinned cables are much superior. You should be able to have mulltiple coax conections and rca jacks simultaneously. Does the TV have a band switch on the remote for Video1 and Video2? If so, you don't need any kind of swither or a/b switch. Whenever possible use rca audio and video jacks.
