DVD player macrovision copyright circuitry

DVD player macrovision copyright circuitry
I bought my daughter an Apex DVD player for her birthday. I wanted to hook it up through the VCR as I have it going through my stereo for a surround sound effect. Since the DVD player has a macrovision copyright circuit, I can't hook it up that way. I tried to bypass the VCR with the audio to the stereo, but it was overmodulated.
Does anyone know how to defeat the macrovision copyright circuitry so I can hook it up like I want? I'm not interested in copying DVDs to VCR. I just want to take advantage of a good stereo effect without buying a $400 surround sound system. Thanks.

Bones,
It depends on the Apex model, if it is possible to defeat the copywrite. Below is a link to an Apex forum. Ask your question there, and I'm sure you'll get a prompt answer. Also try a search for Apex and you'll find lots of sites for modifying the player.
