Bad color on Zenith

Bad color on Zenith
I have a 27" Zenith model # Z27X22D. I have had it for about
four years. The problem is that the color has gone all red and pink I have no blue or green. Is there a chip or something that can be repalced cheap, or do I need to buy a new television?
I would rether not have to purchase a new television.

For this problem, I would recommend checking the R-Demodulator chip in the Zenith. And, too, it may be nothing more than a bad solder connection in and around the R-Demodulator, R-Driver section of the television. Zenith is famous for this problem.
Try opening the back of the set and tapping around the color drivers with a non-metallic probe (NOT A PENCIL) and see if you can clear the problem. If it does, all you need is a little 60-40 electronic solder and a low heat soldering iron to correct the problem.
If you need manuals or parts on this unit, I would suggest that you talk to the folks at Union Electronics on that issue. You can find them at http://www.unionel.com
If you need troubleshooting hints, here is a site that is highly recommended:
