How do I get a CAD drawing of my home?

I am thinking about knocking down some walls and making some rooms bigger / smaller. Who do I hire that can make me 2 or 3 different CAD drawings based on my remodeling ideas? Can a designer do this? Or maybe a contractor, or architect?

I would like to have the most affordable, but competent CAD drawer as possible, since most of the renovation will be DIY anyway. Any ideas on the different rates of each type of professional that can do this?

I see this a old thread, but for anyone else, suggest try your local community college. They have instructors for 2D and 3D software, and maybe one of their students can help you or you take a course and DIY !
Its not as difficult as many think but does have a steep learning curve the first several months.
Best to take very precise measurements of your house first.
