ideas for house addition

I want to add a 4th bedroom and a new master bedroom with bathroom, existing master to be converted to family room. Name:  floor plan-1.jpg

i need some ideas where i should add the rooms so the house will flow nicely and i can maximize the space. I want to add 800-1000 sq ft

That is a good size addition, is your lot big enough? will set back restrictions come into play?

I suspect coming off of the back where the patio is would make the most sense although any addition that takes light away from the interior of the house isn't ideal.

Direction can come into play as master bedrooms typically do not face south in order to keep them darker for sleeping. Or maybe you want it facing east for the morning sun....

My initial thought was to come off of the side but that would likely mean moving or at least altering the bath rm. Which side were you wanting to extend?

right now i face the west and a window that faces south. I just trying to get a nice flow

i was originally thinking off the existing master bedroom but maybe the bathroom alteration and extending on that side
