humidifiers

WHAT IS BETTER A BY-PASS OR POWER HUMIDIFIER, APRILAIR OR HONEYWELL??????

The by-pass would be better since it has less parts, and no moving arts. = to quiet.

The power one is still good. but is has more parts, and a fan to blow the air over the pad.

Only time I would suggest a power one is you don't have a space to put both the unit itself along with the 6" pipe tying into the other duct..


As for Brad wise, they are both good. April Air been around for a long time. We have Honeywell at Home Depot, and heard good luck with those. I've personaly been around the April Air when Iw as in the field.

Ill go with jay here If you can for sure go with the bypass some call them a flow through type humidifier. But the power ones. I would not go for the indoor and out door controls. You can go say with a sail switch and a humidistat . A current sensing relay and a humidistat or a relay on the blower and the humidistat. This way when the blower is on the humidistat can turn the humidifier on or off .
If it can be dont we tap the water line to it in the hot water line. ED
