Nordyne model 917897 (Westinghouse) bypass humidifier wiring question
#1

We had a friend install a Nordyne 917897 (Westinghouse) bypass humidifier to our furnace (Bryant 383KAV) and he wired it for continuous operation. It does not turn on and off with the heat cycle. I had to shut it off due to the fact that we had water leaking all over our basement. I need to hook it up to run during the heat cycle only. I know from other threads I need a current sensing relay, however, I have not been able to find any information about this or where I need to connect it.
Can you inform me what current sensing relay I need and how and where this needs to be connected on our furnace?

When you have the relay. You just put the blower wire for heat through it is all run the power to it then on up to the humidifier. When the blower comes on this will turn on the power to the humidifier. You dont have to cut into any wire on the furnace .
Just ask for a current sensing relay. Any hvac parts store would have them
