old humidifier

I notice a small leak coming from my humidifier, i opened it up and its full of mold and mineral deposits. I just moved into the house about 1 year ago an have not services the furnace. it looks like the humid does not work, but it is still hooked up to the water supply via a peircing clamp coming from the hot water line from my h2o heater. is there any way i can shut this valve off, or do i need to remove the peicing valve and patch the pipe to stop the water flow.

thanks

Wink

That small valve there on the water line should just close down like any other water valve. Then you can work on the humidifier .Or Id get a new one and put it in for sure. you do need them in the winter.
