Dehumidifier in Louisiana question

LIve in south Louisiana outside of New Orleans and it gets well HOT and humid in the summers. YOu walk out to check mail and your clothes are sticking to you by the time you walk back into house. 2500 sqft house with 5 ton ac, would a dehumidifier help with it feeling cooler in the house and not have the ac run as much?

It may help dry out your home. but you are going to take more power to do that, and also may add some more heat.

My question for you is, Does your current A/C run much, not much at all?

If the system don't run much, then the humdity is not getting removed, and the system is oversized. Over sized system is not going to dry out your home..

Last question, do you run your fan 24/7?
