Bypassing the electronic humidistat on a kenmore

I have replaced the humidistat a year ago but it has gone south again .. It works but the levels are all wrong. I have to breath on it to get it to turn on.
It can be 80 % in the room and set the unit to 40 (lowest setting) and nothing. Is there a way to bypass this thing so I can just put it on a timer ?
three wires goint to the humidistat black red and white.
Hope somebody knows this. I hate to spend another 60.00 on a 150.00 dehumidifier.

Do you have a wire drawing w/ the unit or glued on the casing??

Take a look at it to see what wire is what.

Keep the old, get a new, or dump the old

I have a Kenmore dehumidifier I use in my basement during summer months. I have records tht indicate it was repaired in 2000 by Sears. It was running, but no water was being removed from the air. I currently have the same proble. I suspect it is 6-10 years old. I also suspect that I would be advised that it is not worth it to repair a dehumidifier that old. (I think the rule for most appliance is to replace after 2 years.) Okay, so guessing that you are telling me to just buy a new one, what do I do with the old one? Can someone refurbish it and sell it? I hate how we have come to dispose of so many things that might be useful to someone else.Read More

Good Evening Everyone. I am contacting you from Spain, where it is the norm to have an underbuild below your main living accomodation. This quite often gets renovated into seperate living accomodation - which is what I have done. All walls, including the internals are made from brick Due to a lack of fresh air and inadequate ventilation, condensation has occured. This paired with builders not allowing the walls and the plaster to dry sufficiently before painting has water trapped in the walls. There is the normal musty smell you would expect but the problem is not visibly ettin worse. Sayin that it obviously cannot put itself riht without proffesional intervention. I have now made arrangements for ventilation and air change to avoid more condensation. After all that, my question is this: Do I have to strip the plaster, let the walls air for some weeks, re plaster them and let them dry thoroughly and then paint. Or alternatively, once the ventalation is put right will the walls dry out on their own in their own time? All help and advice is welcome. Thank you.Read More
