Garage and Basement Humidity-Need help!
Hello,
I'm new to the forum, and have a question regarding dehumidifiers: I store classic automobiles in my garage and automobile parts in my basement. I need an extremely dry environment to prevent corrosion damage.
There is a tremendous moisture condensation problem in the garage and almost as bad in basement.
Environment is extremely humid with very warm days, cooler nights in summer. Ocean is about 10 miles away. Rains very often, about every 3 days. Winters are very dry and cold.
Garage is 3-car, about 700 sq. ft., house is about 4,700 sq ft including finished basement and is two stories.
I was considering A/C & heater units for the garage but now am thinking a 70 pint portable dehumidifier as a quick fix. Or do I need both?
Also thought I'd put a second 70 pt dehumidifier in the basement.
For the dehumidifiers, I was considering the Whirlpool 70 Pint Dehumidifier Model AD70USR, supposed to work down to 44 deg F. Is this a good choice/quality unit?
Would appreciate any guidance you could provide.
Thanks.
David
