is it worth trying to fix a $150 dehumidifier?

My dehumidifier is at least 5 yrs old. It was working great last year. I noticed
some pink slimy stuff on the cooling coils and wiped it off. This year I ran it early in the year & I think the coils frosted. Maybe it was too cool in the basement. Now, the coils don't seem to get very cold & no water is condensing.

It sounds like the fan & compressor are starting. We took it apart last night & I vacuumed inside & cleaned off the coils. It still doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestions? Can you get freon added to a dehumidifier? Is it worth trying to fix?

Thanks, Lisa

It won't be worth trying to fix them... Lot of them now days are starting $120.
