Lennox whole house humidifiers
I recently received an estimate on installing 2 Lennox humidifiers in my home. I have a 2 story 3,000 Sq. Ft. atrium home with a 2 York furnaces one for each level (Zoned). The contractor suggested 1 Lennox WB2-12 and 1 Lennox WB2-17 for an installed price of $723.00. Another company suggested 2 Aprilaire 600's installed for $710.00. And another company suggested a Honeywell HE225A at $485.00 and stated that would be for the second floor sleeping area of the home and that would be all I need. So I am confused. What is your opinion of the Lennox models versus the Aprilaire and Honeywell models? Are the estimated costs about right for a Heating/AC contractor? And should I go with one or 2 units? Thank you.

They are all pretty much the same.. I wouldn't even bother looking at Lennox.. You are just paying to put the Lennox name on the housing.. If you look at them all, they look all the same!
Not knowing where you are from. Hard to say if you need two or one..
Is your home pretty dry?? Or do you stay near 40% but not less than 30%over the winter time? If it stays in range, then I'd go with one for the sleeping area. If you have hard wood floors, and other fine wood furnature, then go two.

I live in St. Louis, MO. It is warm here now; 75 forcast for today. I'm showing 42% humidity today in the house, but in the winter it feels dry. You notice it with dry itchy skin; I don't recall the humidity reading in the winter though.
The Lennox was estimated by a current contractor I use for yearly maintenance; the other two estimates I called on. But all three are in the ball park money wise. The Honeywell would be the most expensive for two; $825.00 for 2. They said it had a 5 year warranty on parts. I'm not a do it yourselfer; so I will have to have it installed. But even though you don't like Lennox for paying for the name, if it costs the same as the others it would be a fine choice? And do the humidifiers tend to make the heat feel warmer? Thanks.

If you have been working with the Lennox guy for awhile, and know they do ther job, then go with them.
being Loyal to a dealer, they will turn around and be loyal to you.
Being you are in MO, I'd say start off with one for the sleeping area.. You could do both. but I almost want to say it's not needed?
