Desperate Help Needed for Humidifier Questions

Hello,

I am new to the forum and I recently moved to a new home that didn't have a whole-house humidifier as my previous house did. I suffer from severe psorasis and have been having severe nose bleeds with the dry air. I am in need of purchasing a humidifier ASAP. I do not know where to go and what to do? My previous home had a whole-house humidifier, it was not all that but it did help for the most part. I live on the western hills of Maryland and have access to the normal Home Depots and Lowes Home Improvement stores but I don't know if that is where I should go...I've done some searching here on the net but have come up with various opinions and guidance...I need to have it installed as my husband is NOT handy with that sort of "handy-man" jobs. I have tried those little table or room ones and they do not do anything for me....

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If your husband isn't handy, then it would be best to call in a Pro to have it done..

Unless you have neighbors/family members who are.. If they are, then yes you can get a humidfier from Home Depot.. When you do get a unit, there will be two box.. One box is the humidifer itself, and another box that is the kit.. The kit has pretty much all the stuf that you will need... Sorry no tools in there..

Depends on how your furnace is installed, you may or may not have space for it?

Took it in to repair shop, bring it home works great first day,get full bucket within 6 hours.EMpty bucket ,replace, put back on, move to new location, no water after many hours. Bring to repair shop, same thing said, bring home, same thing full bucket day one, nothing day two. The fan stays on all days blowing cold air. The compressor comes on for 40-50 seconds ever 5 mins, whats up with that? THere is plenty of moisture to be suckingup. DO'nt want to bring to repair shop for a third time. What's up with the machine, anything I can do to make the compressor run for much longer than the 50seconds. FIlters are clean, it had a full service repair and cleaing a week ago. No warranty of course. About to give up. Can't find manaul, anyone have one they'd like to email me would be great, or a website to download one. Hi, I just hooked up a EWC smart digital humidistat with an OAS (outside air sensor) I mounted the humidistat in our living room and the OAS outside on the north wall. What I replaced was a honeywell humidistat that the hvac company who installed the furnace (trane) and humidifier Honeywell. They had put the old humidistat in the return air duct that you would have to set to the r.h. This in turn would kick the humidifier on when the blower turned on. When I installed the new one it is suppose to give you the r.h. & outside temp.all the time. But it only does this when the blower comes on. What I would like to do is move the 24 vac transformer to be powered up all the time. Buy running a new line from the breaker box to the transformer so it would be juiced up all the time. What I noticed is that the way it is now is one wire comming out of the transformer leads to a HUM. conection in the furnace. My question is this could I run a cable from the breaker box to a metal box that would hold the transformer and run the wire from the HUM. conection in the furnace to this ( I figure this makes the humidifier run only when the blower comes on) what I'm trying to say is have 120 vac line go to the transformer 24vac so I would have power all the time to the digital humidistat and hook up the HUM. wire hooked up to the transormer?
