Aprilaire 600 install

I just bought an Aprilaire 600 I have limited space on the supply side of furnace to install like the instructions say to do. I read here that you can install on the return side, but I have an Aprilaire spaceguard will the moisture not stop it up it would be 2ft from the 600 if I install it on the return side. On the supply side it would sit right at the top of the a/c coil is this a problem? Also is hot water better then cold water this unit will be for winter use only.
Thank you for any help
Jon

You can put it onto the return if you are limited on space.

Hot water is fine if you have a hard time getting humidity into the home..

I think it just a waste... Cold water will work fine.
